Event to Include Pre-Race Concert, Concession Specials and Post-Race Fireworks
Mooresville, N.C. – The CARS Pro Cup Series will be racing Memorial Day weekend at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C., on Saturday, May 26.
As part of the Memorial Day festivities, a pre-race concert featuring Alamance County’s own Too Far Gone will take place at 6 p.m. on the track’s front stretch. Fans will also be treated to $1 hot dogs, $1 soft drinks and $2 beer all night long, followed by fireworks presented by Zambelli, Intl.
The event, known as the CARS Pro Cup Series All-American 250 will feature 250 laps of intense racing action as well as a halfway break. During that halfway break, series officials will draw one of three envelopes that will decide how to start the second half of the race.
The top eight lead-lap cars will either be inverted, start the second half of the race how they finished the first half, or draw numbered ping-pong balls for their starting spot. No one, not the drivers nor the fans, will know which of the three options will be selected, making the second half of the event unpredictable and entertaining for the fans.
Following the conclusion of the CARS Pro Cup Series event, the local modified division will take to the track for a short feature event.
Tickets for the All-American 250 are $12 online at www.carsprocup.com
until May 24 or $15 at the gate on the day of the race. This week only, fans can purchase a family pack of tickets that includes two adult and two kids’ tickets for only $25 at www.carsprocup.com
Gates open May 26 at 5 p.m., with CARS Pro Cup Series qualifying set to begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. followed shortly by modified qualifying. At 6:15 p.m. fans will be allowed to come down onto the front stretch for an autograph session with the CARS Pro Cup Series drivers.
Following the autograph session, the CARS Pro Cup Series All-American 250 will go green at approximately 7:30 p.m.
